Re: WARBL on a Chrome Book?

Go to Settings, and see what is listed under "Loaded Soundfonts". It should be your imported sf2 file. If not, your sf2 should be listed in the "Available Soundfonts". If it is, click on it, and it will be loaded. If not, then you need to import it, then it will be listed as &quo...

Re: WARBL on a Chrome Book?

Are you going about it in the right way? Go to Settings >Soundfont>Select and you should be able to point it at your downloads folder, or wherever your whistle font is. It should be able to see the file. There is a glitch with some android systems that can load the file but not select the preset, bu...

Re: Zynthian

Here's a nice portable WARBL package I've put together: https://gonzos.net/warbl/zynth-and-warbl.jpg I've loaded the Warbl Whistle soundfont (along with my other favourites) into Zynthian. It can be powered by a powerbank (this one's a 10Amp-hr @5V one). It pulls 800mA or thereabouts, so the life wi...

Re: Zynthian

Hi Louis. I tried your soundfont. Yes it works fine with CC2. Like you are sensitive to latency, I am sensitive to reverb, and I find most of the sounds too reverb-y. I prefer S Christian Collins' GS soundfont https://schristiancollins.com/generaluser.php , but it needs tweaking for CC2. One of the ...

Zynthian

I've just bought a Zynthian synth. I built it from kit form, as I had a spare RPi4x8GB. I loaded up the Warbl whistle soundfont and it sounds really good. Zynthian can run various synth engines, and I tried out the soundfont on the packaged version of FluidSynth. Certainly the sound is significantly...

Re: Invert thumb on basic sax

Thanks, Andrew.

I'll just continue to use it as-is. No great issue.

Invert thumb on basic sax

I'm using basic sax fingering, but I've decided that I'd prefer to use thumb off to raise an octave, rather than thumb on. The "invert thumb" doesn't seem to have any effect.

What am I dong wrong?

I'm running 2.0

Re: Android OS

The FluidSynth app is good, however, it doesn't run on all android systems. The developer is aware of this and, I believe, is currently working on a new version. It runs on my Moto-G phone, but not on two Samsung devices I have. The general midi soundfont that it prompts you to download is OK, howev...

USB cable

Feedback for future... I really like the braided USB cable that comes with the WARBL. It does, however, have one drawback - it's very stiff in torsion. What happens is if there is a twist in the cable and you play an "all fingers off" note, the instrument tries to twist. Biting the mouthpi...
