Re: How many?

Good questions-- there are just over 2000 of the original WARBL in the wild, so I'd say your chances of running into another one are pretty small. I believe most users a tin whistle or uilleann pipes players, so those are the realms where you're most likely to find another user. I don't have anyone...

Re: Tonehole Sensor reading?

Thanks, Andrew. I did some fiddling around, looking at the sensor data, and finally came to the sad conclusion that there isn't enough range between "closed" and "open" to have any meaningful pitchbend values. If I try to push the weak signal too far, all I get is something very ...

Re: Tonehole Sensor reading?

Yes, the distance sensor setting does help some. But, my tube is not uniform (it has a conical bore) so it does not work for all holes. I enabled the printing (that code was already there, commented out, so I just uncommented it). However, I am not able to see the outputs in the IDE output window. D...

Re: Tonehole Sensor reading?

Yes, close to what you said. Let me elaborate. I can calibrate out to get a solid blue light when covered and no light when not covered. That part is rock solid. If I cover ALL 7 holes, NO pitchbend is sent. Then, as I start uncovering each hole from the bottom most one, the note has a -2.8 or so pi...

Re: Tonehole Sensor reading?

OK, I'm a bit confused by that answer. The sensors are able to detect open/close just fine even with the outer tube in place. If I set the Vibrato/Slide setting to "No Pitch bend", it is totally playable. However, when I turn the pitchbend on (e.g., slide and vibrato), it is always reporti...

Re: Tonehole Sensor reading?

Thanks, Andrew! That is quite useful. What I am doing is mounting the Warbl inside another tube (with holes at appropriate places) to physically emulate another instrument. This puts ~10mm distance from the Warbl to the outer hole. I can easily calibrate this out, so I can get reliable on/off signal...

Tonehole Sensor reading?

I'm trying some hacks here for fun. One thing that would be useful is to know the actual sensor readings for the baseline with the calibration in place. Namely, the value of toneholeread[i} for all values of i. Is this possible to get? If not, what are the typical values of toneholeread for the furt...

Re: EWI/Sax fingering

Hi @gonzoB, thanks so much for this! I have successfully built the software with your fingerings, and works a treat! I would highly recommend that Andrew make this the default Sax fingering, and call it a Sax/EWI fingering. Bravo!

Re: Off the grid?

Oh, good! I have the code downloaded and build from source anyway, to use the Gonzo EWI tweak. So, this should work out quite easy!

Re: Off the grid?

Is the config tool zip posted above the current version? Would it be possible to keep a current version posted somewhere in the website? I want to be able to use it on my Mac with no internet connection. Thanks!

Edit: I downloaded it, and it seems to work fine!
