Re: Playing with the Yamaha UD-BT01 Bluetooth adapter

My suggestion would be to have a second, full-sized USB port be internal to the WARBL, as the user would normally only need to plug in a USB Bluetooth dongle once. If you don't pre-install the dongle, I would think you could skip certification completely. Also if the user doesn't want Bluetooth coul...

Re: Obscure Instruments the WARBL could theoretically emulate

Chalumeaux from The Shawm Shop in F or C. Handmade wood, ~$150. The Chalumeaux is the forerunner of the Clarinet; there is a decent amount of classical music written specifically for it. https://www.theshawmshop.co.uk/chalumeau Note that many Chalumeaux use half-fingering on the bottom or bottom two...

Obscure Instruments the WARBL could theoretically emulate

This is a thread for more-obscure physical instruments the WARBL could theoretically emulate. To start off, at https://www.linseypollak.com/instruments/ these DIY instruments look doable: "Cylisax" "Foonki" "Clarini" "Carrot Clarinet" The MiniSax - a pretty, p...

Add MiniSax fingerings

The MiniSax is a stainless steel reed instrument with 6 front holes and 1 back hole. It requires half-fingering for some notes, but I think the WARBL's 7th front hole could be used to substitute for this. Re: Would it make sense to have a "WARBL" fingering?

The attraction would be for two classes of people, who may overlap: (a) People like me, a person who is looking for a new instrument, and has no deep previous experience with this class of instruments. It would seem to me it'd be possible to come up with a fingering system based on an easy-to-rememb...

Re: ANY SCALE AND ANY TUNING ON THE OPTICAL HOLES

So, instead of: {70}, //0000000 Bb You could just have: {70}, It would be harder to debug, though. I haven't used C++ in so long that I didn't fully remember // was its line-comment character, and while trying to figure out what the numbers were, I came to the conclusion they couldn't possibly be n...

Would it make sense to have a "WARBL" fingering?

I'm looking through the fingering charts, and they all seem to be based on other instruments, which are limited by the physics of air, and also which all evolved before scientific research into user interface design was a thing. I'm wondering if anyone has thought about a fingering chart that would ...

Re: Sessions!

If you want super-lo-fi, google "acoustic iphone amplifier" - they do around +10dB - but you won't be able to use the iPhone easily while you are using one, so you'd need to be sure you can make any changes you need mid-session via the WARBL buttons. If it is loud enough it might be a good...

Re: Initial thoughts

i am thinking appearance but the original poster may have other desires. I feel the form factor is perfect as it is but if somebody wants it longer there are other options besides making the WARBL larger. I wonder if any of the 3D printing technologies are able to produce strong enough cylindrical ...

Re: Proposed longer WARBL version for pipers

Just want to check - is this the product that became a straight-out replacement for the original product on 5/6/20 orders and later, or is this discussing something else that is not yet available? """ New: Starting with orders placed 5/6/20, WARBL has slightly longer hole spacing, ide...
