Re: Uilleann intrument in A

Yes, it's a trade-off in terms of what you want. Batteries can add another layer of malfunction. The transpose semi-tones on Celtic Sounds can be used fairly quickly so not having a button to press for a key change isn't that much of an issue. In the key of A the top note is quite 'tinny' so I've co...

Re: Uilleann intrument in A

But I guess the Roland Sound Canvas won't have 'uilleann' sounds? Hmmm, the trade-off here is the benefit of no battery needed with the WARBL against the reliance on midi apps. Not having the sounds 'in-house' is a bit of a constraint. My dream is an instrument that allows me uilleann fingering but ...

Re: Uilleann intrument in A

Okay, thanks for that. Just out of curiosity, under what circumstances would you use the key drop-down configurator successfully? Is it just the uilleann instrument that isn't appropriate?

Uilleann intrument in A

I'm experimenting with different keys and (living in Scotland, surrounded by Scottish repertoire) I thought I would try out the key of A. Unfortunately I'm not having much success. I don't seem to be getting the scale of A across both octaves (btw I'm choosing the top A in the key selection panel - ...

Sessions!

Has anyone taken his WARBL into a session? I suspect there are challenges with this. At present, even if I line-in from headphone jack on my iPhone to a bluetooth speaker capable of playing music on my phone pretty loudly, I'm not achieving a volume capable of matching (say) a fiddle. This is even w...

Re: Problems

For those following this thread, all my issues have been resolved. Some of them were not reading the manual closely enough and at least one was a brain malfunction! Thanks Andrew Mowry for your help. I'm considering a "Uilleann WARBL for Dummies" pdf as who else is better placed to write i...

Re: Problems

No, still 1.6. I'll try the video. But it would be good to have 1.8 installed.

Problems

I'm afraid I'm not getting on with the Warbl I bought in April. I had an iPhone 5C originally which wasn't giving satisfactory results, so I bought an iPhone 6S and then lockdown happened and my mind was on other things. But last night, encouraged by my daughter's boyfriend who's a bit of a wizard w...

Re: Proposed longer WARBL version for pipers

Having got my WARBL back in April, I wish I had seen this discussion as I would have held off until the longer version became available. Have you considered the possibility of swapping new for old or some other arrangement?
