This feature has been a game changer for me as all us wind controllers had was bite sensors. They are great but the shake vibrato gets close to what brass players do.
Other controllers do have motion sensors but I don’t believe they have figured out shake vibrato. To get the vibrato right you do need to use the mouthpiece to control it better. Limiting the range and speed of the back and forth along with your hands.
Wondering which of the 6 axis is used for shake vibrato. This little $6 component and the on screen control is what your competition hasn’t figured out.

Re: Shake Vibrato
Great, I'm glad it's working well for you. I admit that I rarely use finger vibrato now that the shake vibrato is available .
I'm pretty sure that other devices that have motion sensors use a very similar IMU, but they may just have decided not to implement shake vibrato for various reasons. I haven't really looked to see what others are using an IMU for.
The WARBL uses the Y axis of the accelerometer for this, and it's quite easy to implement. Using only the accelerometer is also nice because it lets us turn off the gyroscope and save some power unless it's being used for something else.
I'll answer your other question about firmware 4.3 separately, but one new feature is that you can control volume with shake vibrato in addition to pitch.

Re: Shake Vibrato
Found yet another use for the W2 in bagless mode. I attached it to my new YDS 150 to correct for Yamaha’s major design omission. I attached it with Velcro so I can quickly play it independently while the 150 hangs on it’s strap.
Now I have shake vibrato and I can use the 150’s joystick for pitch bend along with complete sax fingering. WARBL2 RULES!!!!

Re: Shake Vibrato
I can even play the 150 with a bag if I block the drain tube. Wish I could send the 150 so you could put proper controller components in it. Yamaha seems clueless in 2024. You had raised the bar in 2023.
