iPhone vs iPad

I use an iPhone 11Pro Max (IOS 14.8.1), the Warbl App, and alternate between the Celtic Sounds app and the Pocket Bagpipe app from Universal Piper. Sometimes the Warbl App gives me a blank screen and it all is very unstable - meaning that my adjustments in the Warbl app seem not to take full effect, or the Warbl doesn't connect. I can play one song, start another, and lose connection, change octave etc.

Could this be because I'm running everything through the iPhone?

I am looking at buying a used iPad to use instead.

I'm not aware of any particular advantage of using an iPad in terms of functionality (of course it's easier to use the interface in the app and the battery life is much better). I wonder if some of the issues with the app could be your internet connection? The app does currently require internet, and a blank screen sounds as if you may be losing internet. If you're away from wifi, you'd also have to have cellular data turned on for the app. I'm currently trying to get rid of the internet requirement, so hopefully that will be fixed soon.
