Sheet music

Post by DaBrain »

One last naive question I can’t figure out how to ask google.

Say I learn tin whistle fingering and learn to play reading real sheet music and not tabs.

If I want to switch sounds (thumbjam) to a sax and get a sax workbook with sax sheet music, can I just play with the same fingerings without having to transpose the music assuming I change the key to an appropriate sax key)?

Sorry. I spoke to soon. I was able to answer my own question. Looks like I can use piano sheet music, which is even better!

Yes, one nice thing about MIDI is that it's easy to transpose to any key. It's usually easiest to do this in whatever app you're using to produce the sound, rather than the WARBL app, though it depends to some extent on the setup.
