Transient note filter not saving
Transient note filter not saving
Hi Andrew.
I thought I'd fiddle with the TNF as I was getting a few unwanted notes on a fast piece I was playing (nothing to do with the skills of the player, of course).
I can't make the filter save. I've tried it on all the usual suspects (Android, Ubuntu, Win10). I even tried the link you sent me for the force max velocity switch, but no good.
I move the slider to 25msec, and click save for this instrument, then confirm. The LED on the instrument flashes (3 times). I disconnect, then reconnect (USB cable) and it's gone - zero msec.

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Strange, it seems to be working for me. Is that the only settings that doesn't seem to be saved?
If you just set the TNF then switch to a different instrument in the Config Tool and then switch back, does it show the correct value? That will tell us if it is not getting changed at all or is it's just not getting saved.

Re: Transient note filter not saving
This is what happens:
set the TNF
save to current instrument
switch to another instrument and back - TNF is still set
click the Disconnect button and then Connect (without unplugging the instrument) - TNF is still set
Click the Disconnect, remove and re-plug the instrument, click Connect - TNF is not set

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Okay-- if you change another setting at the same time and then follow the same sequence (save, unplug, replug, reconnect), does the other setting get saved and reloaded correctly?

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Yes the other settings I tried - Vibrato only, Send pressure as CC - saved properly
Seem to be only the TNF.

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Weird, I've tried a bunch of things but still can't seem to reproduce this. You're using an unaltered version of firmware 2.1?

Re: Transient note filter not saving
I'm using 2.1 firmware and functions unchanged, but I have a different fingering_charts.ino for my sax fingerings
It happens also on the IOS app on my iPhone.
I tested setting it to 50msec and seeing if I can hear any difference, to test if it's setting it but not reading it from the instrument. I can't hear any difference, which I would have expected to hear at 50msec.

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Yes, you should be able to hear a differenced at 50 ms.
Would you be interested in trying the attached 2.2 version? It should be same other than a few more fingering chart additions, but I'm wondering if somehow this issue has gotten fixed along the way.

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Do you have the .ino files? - I use Arduino IDE.
I'll try it first with the original fingering charts, then with the 2.2 version.

Re: Transient note filter not saving
Sure, here they are. You delete the "build" folder that's also in there.
